Four inches of centre of gravity travel, so the balance between easy propulsion and rearward stability can be set precisely.
Adjustable armrests
The two-point T-style armrest sets up as flip back or removable, adjusts for height on the go, and uses a welded receiver that will not rotate over time.
Standard fittings
Composite SoftRoll castors and aluminum push or pull wheel locks come as standard rather than as chargeable options.
Replaces the Aero X
The X replaces the Aero X, with a redesigned frame, new upholstery with on-the-go tension adjustment and Contour Packs for padding.
About this product
The TiLite X is Permobil's aluminum folding chair, and it replaced the Aero X in the TiLite range. The design problem it sets out to solve is the usual compromise of a folding chair: a cross brace has to hinge, and anything that hinges flexes, so folding chairs have historically given up efficiency in exchange for fitting in a car.
The X attacks that with a single-piece side frame and a redesigned cross brace, which together stiffen the frame so more of each push reaches the ground. It will not match a rigid frame, but it narrows the gap enough that someone who needs the chair to fold does not have to accept a vague ride to get it.
Like the rest of the TiLite line it is a TiFit chair, built to the person's measurements rather than picked from stock sizes, and Permobil quotes over a billion possible configurations across the option list.
Adjustment
Seat to floor height, camber, seat to footrest height, backrest angle and centre of gravity all adjust, with four inches of centre of gravity travel. The Gear Lock caster system squares the front casters in two degree increments with a single tool, which is the same idea as the Precision Lock system on the rigid TiLite chairs.
