Privacy policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Help Mobility supplies, rents, services and repairs mobility and home accessibility equipment across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website and the dealings that follow from it.
If you have a question about anything here, please contact us using the details at the end.
What this website collects
This website is a catalogue. You can browse equipment, read about rentals, repairs and funding programs, and get in touch with us. It does not sell online: there is no shopping cart, no checkout, and no payment of any kind is taken or processed through it. You cannot create a customer account on it.
When you visit, our hosting provider records the ordinary technical information every web server records in order to serve pages and keep the site secure — your IP address, the pages requested, the date and time, and your browser and device type. We do not run website analytics, advertising trackers, or any third-party scripts on these pages.
The only cookie this site sets is the session cookie needed to keep a staff member signed in to our internal tools. Browsing as a visitor does not require you to accept cookies.
If you use the contact form, it opens a message in your own email program, already addressed to us, for you to send yourself. The form does not transmit anything to this website, and nothing you type into it is stored here.
If you use a product order form to configure equipment, your choices stay in your browser. Nothing is ordered and nothing is sent until you contact us and we confirm availability, pricing and funding with you.
Information you give us directly
Most of the personal information we hold reaches us the ordinary way: you telephone us, email us, visit a showroom, or are referred to us by a therapist, hospital, retirement home or long-term care home. Depending on what you need from us, that may include:
- Contact details — your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Delivery and installation details — the address where equipment is delivered, installed or serviced, and what we need to know to do that safely.
- Equipment details — what you bought or rented, serial numbers, service history and warranty status.
- Funding and insurance details — the information a funding program or insurer requires from an applicant, which may include health-related information about your condition and your need for equipment, and identifiers such as a health card or program client number.
- Payment details — taken in person, by telephone or by invoice. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Correspondence — what you tell us in emails, letters and calls.
We ask for health-related information only where a funding program, insurer or clinician requires it to assess or authorize equipment, and we use it only for that purpose.
How we use it
- To quote for, supply, deliver, install, rent, service and repair equipment, and to honour warranties.
- To prepare and submit applications and claims to funding programs and insurers on your behalf, with your authorization, and to answer their questions about those claims.
- To take payment, issue invoices and keep the accounting records the law requires us to keep.
- To answer your questions and provide support, and to contact you about your equipment or an order.
- To keep you informed about products and services where you have asked us to. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time without affecting the service you receive.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We disclose it only where it is needed to do what you have asked of us, or where the law requires:
- Funding programs and insurers — such as the Ontario Assistive Devices Program, the Ontario Disability Support Program, Ontario Works, March of Dimes Canada, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, WSIB and private insurers — when we apply or claim on your behalf with your authorization.
- Your clinicians — the occupational therapist, physiotherapist or prescriber involved in your equipment, where they are part of the process.
- Manufacturers and suppliers — where a warranty claim, part or specialist repair requires it.
- Service providers who work on our behalf — including delivery and installation partners, our website host, and our email and business software providers. They may use your information only to provide that service to us.
- Where the law requires it — to comply with a legal obligation or valid legal process, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, our staff or the public.
- In a business transaction — if our business is sold or reorganized, as part of that transaction.
Where this site is hosted
This website is hosted for us by Frappe Cloud, which operates the servers that serve these pages and keeps the backups of the site. Our business records are held in our own systems and in business software operated by established providers on our behalf.
Links to other websites
Some pages link to websites we do not control, such as funding programs, manufacturers and clinical organizations. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we would encourage you to read their own privacy policies before giving them information.
Children
We supply equipment for children, and in those cases we deal with a parent, guardian or clinician. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child through it.
Security and retention
We protect personal information with physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, and we limit access to the staff who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please do not send us sensitive information through an unsecured channel; call us and we will tell you a safer way.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business, tax and funding-program records. When we no longer need it, we destroy or anonymize it.
Your choices and your rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we have used it;
- give you a copy of it;
- correct it where it is wrong or incomplete;
- stop sending you marketing; or
- withdraw a consent you have given, subject to legal and contractual limits — for example, we cannot continue a funding application without the information that program requires.
We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request, and we will answer within the time the law allows. There is no charge for a reasonable request, and asking will never affect the service we give you.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first using the details below so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario at ipc.on.ca.
Information kept outside Canada
Some of the providers who work on our behalf may store or process information outside Canada, where it may be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country. We require providers to protect it to a comparable standard.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change or as the law requires. The revised policy is posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
