Health care equipment and assistive devices for injured workers.
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) provides funding for health care equipment and assistive devices to support workers recovering from work-related injuries or illnesses. This includes both temporary and long-term mobility solutions that help restore independence, prevent further injury, and improve quality of life.
Devices covered may include
- Manual and power wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and accessories
- Crutches and splints
- Hospital beds and therapeutic mattresses
- Transfer aids and lift chairs
- Environmental controls and communication devices
- Specialized prosthetic and orthotic equipment
Eligibility is based on medical need, the nature of the injury, and recommendations from health professionals. WSIB works with preferred suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effective access to equipment for injured workers.
