Reliable Solutions for Everyday Movement
Help Mobility offers a wide selection of wheelchairs and transport chairs to meet your mobility needs — whether it's for short-term recovery, travel, or daily use. Our chairs are lightweight, foldable, and designed for comfort and convenience.
Renting is usually the right call when the need has an end date: a broken ankle, a discharge from hospital, a relative visiting who can't manage long distances, or a holiday with more walking than usual. You get the chair for exactly as long as it's useful.

Wheelchair or Transport Chair?
These two get confused constantly, and the difference decides whether the user can move independently.
Has large rear wheels with handrims, so the user can propel themselves.
Choose this when the person has the arm strength and wants to move around without waiting for someone to push them.
Has four small wheels and no handrims — it's pushed by an attendant. Lighter and more compact, so it's easier to lift into a car boot and manoeuvre in tight spaces.
Choose this when someone will always be pushing.
If you're unsure, tell us who will be doing the pushing and where the chair will be used. That single question usually settles it.
Buying Used Costs Less Than Renting for Long
Renting suits a need with an end date. Where the chair will be needed indefinitely, monthly payments add up quickly.
A refurbished manual wheelchair is among the most affordable things we sell, comes with a one year warranty on most equipment, and is measured and fitted to the person rather than handed over in whatever size is on the shelf.
Seat width is the measurement that matters: too wide and the person slumps sideways and cannot push efficiently, too narrow and it presses on the hips. Tell us the measurement and we will tell you what we have.

Funding for Wheelchairs in Ontario
Manual and power wheelchairs are covered by the Ontario Assistive Devices Program, which funds up to 75% of the cost for eligible residents. ODSP and Ontario Works recipients may receive 100% coverage, including positioning devices such as cushions and back supports.
If the need is long-term rather than temporary, it's worth checking eligibility before renting. We handle these applications every day.

Wheelchair Rental FAQs
How much does it cost to rent a wheelchair?
Rental pricing depends on the type of chair and how long you need it. Call us at 905-615-9302 and we'll recommend a chair and give you a straightforward quote.
Should I rent or buy a wheelchair?
If the need has a foreseeable end — recovery, a trip, a visit — renting almost always makes more sense. If it's long-term, buying is better value: a refurbished wheelchair is among the most affordable things we sell and comes with a one year warranty on most equipment, and funding programs like ADP may cover up to 75% or more of a new chair.
What's the difference between a wheelchair and a transport chair?
A manual wheelchair has large rear wheels with handrims so the user can propel themselves. A transport chair has four small wheels and no handrims, so it must be pushed by someone else — but it's lighter and more compact. If the user will always be pushed, a transport chair is usually the better choice.
Will the chair fold to fit in a car?
Our chairs are lightweight and foldable, which is one of the main reasons people choose them for recovery and travel. Transport chairs are generally the most compact option. Tell us your vehicle when you call if boot space is tight.
What sizes and weight capacities are available?
Seat width and capacity vary by model, and fit matters more than most people expect — a chair that's too wide is uncomfortable and harder to push. Give us the user's measurements and weight when you call and we'll match the chair properly.
How quickly can a wheelchair be delivered?
Same-day delivery is available across the Greater Toronto Area for most rentals. Call early in the day for priority scheduling, particularly around hospital discharges.
Is a wheelchair covered by funding in Ontario?
Manual and power wheelchairs are covered by the Ontario Assistive Devices Program at up to 75% for eligible residents, with 100% coverage available for ODSP and Ontario Works recipients. See our funding page or call us to check eligibility.
