Fitted, not just sold
Used & Refurbished Wheelchairs for Sale in Toronto
Manual wheelchairs and transport chairs for a fraction of the price of new. One year warranty, and fitted to the person.
A Wheelchair That Fits Matters More Than Almost Anything Else
Most used wheelchairs are sold by size alone, or not by size at all. That is the problem with buying one privately: you get whatever chair the seller happened to own.
A chair that is too wide means the person slumps sideways and cannot push efficiently. Too narrow and it presses on the hips, which for anyone sitting all day risks pressure damage. Seat height decides whether their feet reach the floor. None of that is visible in a photograph.
We measure, and we fit the chair to the person, exactly as we would with a new one. Refurbished does not mean take what you are given, and most of our refurbished equipment comes with a one year warranty.

Chairs We Refurbish
Manual Wheelchairs
Standard folding chairs for everyday use, self-propelled or pushed. The most common request, and usually the best value of anything we refurbish.
Transport Chairs
Lighter, narrower chairs with four small wheels, pushed by a companion. Ideal for appointments, travel and outings rather than daily self-propelling.
Cushions & Backs
Pressure-relieving cushions and back supports, which matter as much as the chair for anyone sitting for long periods.
Parts & Accessories
Footrests, armrests, anti-tippers, trays and bags, so an existing chair can be brought back into proper use rather than replaced.
Stock changes constantly. Call and ask what we have today, and tell us the seat width you need so we can tell you honestly whether we have it.
The Two Measurements That Matter
If you are buying a wheelchair, these are the numbers to have before you call anyone.
Seat Width
Measure across the widest point while the person is seated, then allow a little clearance. Standard chairs are usually 16", 18" or 20". Too wide and they slump sideways; too narrow and it presses on the hips.
Seat Height
Decides whether the feet rest properly and whether the person can push with their arms comfortably. It also affects getting in and out, and whether the chair fits under a table.
Your Doorways
Worth measuring the narrowest doorway in the home before buying. A chair that will not pass through a bathroom door solves nothing.
Who Lifts It
If the chair goes in a car regularly, weight matters more than anything on the spec sheet. Be honest about who is doing the lifting.
Not sure? Come into the showroom and we will measure properly. It takes a few minutes and it is the difference between a chair that gets used and one that does not.
Buying Used, or Renting
Both are available, and how long the chair is needed usually decides it.
Renting suits a few weeks after surgery, a visiting relative, or a holiday. You return it when you are done and service is included.
Buying refurbished suits an ongoing need, and for a manual wheelchair the price is often low enough that buying makes sense even for a few months of use. Most refurbished equipment comes with a one year warranty.
Funding a Wheelchair in Ontario
The Assistive Devices Program covers a share of the cost of a wheelchair for eligible Ontario residents, though programs differ on whether they will fund used or refurbished equipment. Some fund only new devices.
That is often exactly why refurbished is the practical route for a family paying themselves, or where a chair is needed before an application can be processed.
Tell Us the Seat Width. We Will Tell You What We Have.
Stock changes week to week, and the right chair is the one that fits. One call is faster than any list.
Used & Refurbished Wheelchair FAQs
Do used wheelchairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Most of our refurbished equipment comes with a one year warranty, and an extended warranty is available for longer cover. That is the main difference between buying from us and buying privately, where you have no recourse once the chair changes hands. Ask us for the terms on the chair you are considering.
How much does a used wheelchair cost in Toronto?
Considerably less than new, and manual wheelchairs are among the most affordable things we refurbish. The exact price depends on the model and condition. Call 905-615-9302 and we will quote what is in stock today.
What size wheelchair do I need?
Seat width is the critical measurement. Measure across the widest point while seated and allow a little clearance. Standard chairs are usually 16", 18" or 20". Seat height matters too, as it decides whether the feet reach the floor. Come in and we will measure properly.
What is the difference between a wheelchair and a transport chair?
A wheelchair has large rear wheels so the person can propel themselves. A transport chair has four small wheels and must be pushed by someone else, but it is lighter and narrower, which suits appointments and travel. If the person wants to move independently, they need a wheelchair.
Will it fit through my doorways?
Measure the narrowest doorway in the home, usually the bathroom, before buying. Tell us the measurement and we will make sure the chair we offer will pass through it.
Can I get funding for a wheelchair?
The Assistive Devices Program covers a share of the cost for eligible Ontario residents, though some programs fund only new equipment. We handle these applications every day and can tell you quickly what is realistic. See our funding page.
Do I need a cushion as well?
If the person will sit in the chair for more than short periods, yes. A pressure-relieving cushion protects the skin, and for anyone who cannot shift their own weight it is not optional. We can advise on which type suits.
Can you repair a wheelchair I already own?
Yes. We carry refurbished parts and accessories including footrests, armrests and anti-tippers, and our technicians repair chairs across the GTA. Often a repair is far cheaper than replacing the chair. See repairs and maintenance.
