Brand new batteries fitted
Used & Refurbished Mobility Scooters in Toronto
Get your independence back for a fraction of the price of new. Brand new batteries, one year warranty, and you can try it before you buy.
With a Used Scooter, the Batteries Are the Whole Question
A mobility scooter is a frame, a motor and a set of batteries. The frame and motor last a long time. The batteries do not.
This is where privately sold scooters catch people out. A scooter that looks immaculate and drives fine around a driveway can leave someone stranded two streets from home, because sealed batteries lose capacity with age and with every deep discharge, and none of that is visible.
Our refurbished scooters are fitted with brand new batteries. That is the single biggest difference between buying one from us and buying one privately, and it is why our scooters go the distance the specification says rather than a fraction of it.
They also come with a one year warranty on most equipment, so if something does go wrong you are not on your own.

Three or Four Wheels, and How Far You Actually Go
Three Wheels
Turns in a much tighter circle, which matters indoors, in shops and in lifts. The trade is slightly less stability on cambers and rough ground.
Four Wheels
More stable outdoors, on kerb cuts, grass and uneven pavements. The better choice if most journeys are outside the house.
Travel & Folding Scooters
Come apart or fold to go in a car boot. If the scooter has to travel, this decides everything, because a full-size scooter needs a hoist or a ramp.
Full-Size Scooters
Longer range, larger wheels, more comfortable seats and better performance on rough ground. Heavier, and they need somewhere to be stored and charged.
Before you choose, think about the longest single trip you want to make and whether the scooter must go in a car. Those two answers narrow it down faster than any spec sheet.
Questions Worth Asking Before You Buy Any Used Scooter
Ask these of any seller. We have answered them here so you can compare.
How Old Are the Batteries?
Ours are brand new. Ask a private seller this question and the answer is usually vague, which tells you what you need to know. Batteries are a consumable and the largest running cost of a scooter.
Is There a Warranty?
Ours come with one year on most equipment, and extended cover is available. A private sale gives you nothing once the scooter changes hands.
Where Will It Live?
A scooter needs somewhere to be parked and charged, ideally indoors and near an outlet. A garage with no power is a common problem worth solving before you buy.
Who Will Service It?
Scooters need servicing and parts are model specific. Buying from a supplier who carries parts and has technicians is worth far more than the saving on a private sale.
Buying Used, or Renting
Both are available, and it usually comes down to how long you need it.
Renting suits a holiday, a visiting relative, or a few weeks while recovering. It is also the sensible way to find out whether a scooter suits you at all before committing.
Buying refurbished suits an ongoing need, and is far less than the cost of a new scooter, with new batteries and a one year warranty on most equipment.
If you have never used a scooter, try one first. We would rather you rented for a month and were certain than bought something that sits in a garage.
Funding a Scooter in Ontario
The Assistive Devices Program covers a share of the cost of a mobility scooter for eligible Ontario residents, subject to an assessment and clinical criteria.
Programs differ on whether they will fund used or refurbished equipment, and some fund only new devices. That is often exactly why refurbished is the practical route for someone paying themselves, or who needs a scooter before an application can be processed.
Come and Drive One Before You Decide
A scooter is easy to get wrong from a photograph. Try it, check the turning circle, and see whether it goes in your car.
Used & Refurbished Scooter FAQs
Do your used scooters come with new batteries?
Yes. Our refurbished scooters are fitted with brand new batteries where applicable. Batteries are the most common reason a privately bought scooter disappoints, because they lose capacity with age and with every deep discharge, and none of that is visible when you look at the scooter.
Do used mobility scooters come with a warranty?
Yes. Most of our refurbished equipment comes with a one year warranty, and an extended warranty is available for longer cover. With a scooter that matters more than with most equipment, because there is a motor, a controller and a charging system involved. Ask us for the terms on the scooter you are considering.
How much does a used mobility scooter cost in Toronto?
Far less than new, with the price depending on the model and its size. Call 905-615-9302 and we will tell you what is on the floor today and what it would cost delivered.
Should I get three wheels or four?
Three wheels turn in a tighter circle, which suits indoor use, shops and lifts. Four wheels are more stable outdoors on kerb cuts, grass and uneven pavement. If most of your journeys are outside, choose four.
Will it fit in my car?
Only if it is a travel or folding model. Full-size scooters need a hoist, a ramp or a van. Tell us your car and whether the scooter has to travel, and we will tell you honestly which models will work.
Can I get funding for a mobility scooter?
The Assistive Devices Program covers a share of the cost for eligible Ontario residents, subject to assessment. Some programs fund only new equipment. We handle these applications every day and can tell you what is realistic. See our funding page.
Can I try one before buying?
Yes, and we would encourage it. Come to our Mississauga showroom and drive one. If you have never used a scooter, renting for a month first is a sensible way to be certain before you spend anything.
Do you service scooters afterwards?
Yes. Our technicians are available seven days a week with emergency service around the clock, and we carry parts and batteries. Buying from us means the scooter can be kept running rather than becoming scrap when something fails.
