About this product
The HELIO A6 is the aluminum folding chair in Motion Composites' Helio range, positioned as the most affordable of the family without giving up the engineering that defines it. It is built in Quebec.
The frame is a rigid unibody with one-piece side frames rather than a two-part assembly. That means fewer joints to work loose, less maintenance over the life of the chair, and less weight for the same strength. A symmetrical cross brace and oversized pivot axles keep the folding mechanism tight, so the chair does not soften as it is folded and unfolded over the years.
The frame reaches a front seat to floor height as low as 12 inches. That is unusually low, and it matters for anyone who propels with their feet, since it lets the whole foot reach the floor rather than just the toes. The same frame goes up to 20.5 inches, so one design covers a hemi setup and a tall adult without switching frames.
Adjustment
Vertical axle plates give several centre of gravity positions while keeping the wheels well spread for lateral stability, and the seat adjusts in half inch increments. The single post armrests set to a specific height without the bulk of a conventional single post, and the integrated receiver stops the rattles that develop in armrest mounts over time.
