Features & Benefits

Why this one

Seat height stays put

The front seat to floor height stays constant through the whole 0 to 25 degree tilt, so footplate setup stays correct at every angle.

Dual gas cylinders

Dual gas cylinders make the tilt effort consistent and light whatever the occupant weighs, which matters over many repositionings a day.

Foot propelling frame

A recessed lower frame clears space for foot propelling, so someone who moves themselves by foot keeps that independence.

Depth adjustable frame

The frame adjusts for depth, so seat depth can be changed as needs alter rather than requiring a different chair.

ABS seat pan

An ABS seat pan gives a firm, wipe-clean base that supports a cushion properly rather than letting it sag into a sling.

Relax seating included

The Relax seating system comes as standard rather than being quoted separately alongside the chair.

ADP approved

ADP approved under code WM0001041, so it can be funded through the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents.

Made in Canada

Designed and built in Canada by Power Plus Mobility, which keeps lead times short and parts and service close at hand.

About this product

The Extreme is Power Plus Mobility's tilt chair, made in Canada. It tilts through 25 degrees on dual gas cylinders, and it has one characteristic that sets it apart from most tilt chairs: the front seat to floor height stays constant through the whole tilt range.

That sounds technical and is very practical. On most tilt chairs the seat rises or drops as it tilts, so a footplate set correctly upright ends up wrong once tilted, and the person's feet either dangle or get pushed up into their knees. Holding the front seat height constant means the setup stays correct at every angle, which matters for anyone who is tilted repeatedly through the day.

Foot propelling

The lower frame is recessed, which clears space for someone to propel with their feet. Combined with the constant seat height through tilt, that means a person who moves themselves by foot can keep doing so rather than losing that independence when they move to a tilt chair.

Tilt on gas cylinders

Dual gas cylinders do the work of tilting, so the effort is consistent and light regardless of how heavy the occupant is. For a caregiver repositioning someone many times a day, that consistency matters more than the tilt angle itself.

Fit and finish

The frame is depth adjustable, the seat pan is ABS, and the Relax seating system comes as standard. The chair is ADP approved under code WM0001041.

Ordering

Built to the configuration agreed at assessment. Contact us to arrange one, or to compare it against the STP, which is a different chair from the same manufacturer with a larger tilt range.
