Features & Benefits

Why this one

Arc roller tilt system

An arc shaped roller guide carries the child's centre of gravity through the tilt, so the chair stays balanced even fully tilted back.

0 to 45 degree tilt

Tilts through 45 degrees, enough to move weight properly off the sitting bones for pressure relief and a more relaxed position.

Lightest folding tilt

The lightest paediatric folding tilt-in-space chair available, with a transport weight from around 9.3 kg on a small frame.

Folds in seconds

The folding recline back drops at the push of a button and stays on the chair, so nothing has to be carried separately.

Fits a normal car

A compact wheelbase and small folded footprint mean it fits in an ordinary car boot, without needing an adapted vehicle.

Hand or foot tilt

Tilt is operated by a hand lever or a foot lever, mounted on either side, so it suits whoever is doing the repositioning.

Built-in growth

Growth is built into the frame and Ki includes a one-time growth kit, so the chair is adjusted as the child grows rather than replaced.

Colour choices

Two frame colours at no charge, with designer spoke guards, coloured mag wheels and a matching Axiom backrest available.

About this product

The Little Wave Arc is Ki Mobility's paediatric tilt-in-space chair, and it exists to solve a problem most tilt chairs create for families. Traditional tilt chairs are heavy, built on bulky box frames, and often need an adapted vehicle to move them. The Arc folds, weighs very little, and fits in the back of an ordinary car.

The tilt comes from an arc shaped roller guide rather than a fixed pivot. As the chair tilts, the roller carries the child's centre of gravity along with it, so the chair stays balanced through the whole range and the wheelbase stays short. In practice that means a chair that tilts fully without becoming long and unwieldy, and repositioning that takes little effort from whoever is doing it.

Tilting and folding

The chair tilts through 45 degrees, operated by either a hand lever or a foot lever, mounted on whichever side suits. The folding recline back folds at the push of a button and stays attached to the chair rather than coming off to be carried separately, and it adjusts to any height so it does not clash with other cane mounted hardware. A rigid frame version is available if folding is not needed.

Growing, and looking right

Growth is built into the frame, and Ki includes a one-time growth kit. Two frame colours come at no charge, with designer spoke guards and coloured mag wheels available, and if Ki's Axiom seating is specified the backrest can be coloured to match the frame. That matters more than it may sound: a child who likes their chair uses it differently from one who is embarrassed by it.
