Welcome to Help Mobility!

Future Mobility Super Chair for Kids Tilt Wheelchair

A paediatric tilt wheelchair that grows with the child in both width and depth, with a complete seating system included.

Features & Benefits

Why this one

Grows with the child

Seat width grows from 10 to 13 inches or 13 to 16 inches, and depth from 11 to 14 or 13 to 16, without changing any frame members.

3 to 40 degree tilt

Tilts from 3 to 40 degrees, moving weight off the sitting bones without disturbing how the child is positioned in the chair.

Posi-lock tilt

A posi-lock mechanism holds the chair at the chosen tilt angle, operated from the tilt handle rather than held in place.

Optional recline

An optional 21 degrees of recline is available where opening the hip angle is wanted alongside tilt.

Seating included

A contoured padded headrest, the Super Chair Kids back and its matching cushion all come as standard rather than specified separately.

Adjustable axle plate

The axle plate offers a range of seat to floor heights and centre of gravity positions, so the setup suits the child rather than the frame.

Adjustable footplates

Footplates flip up for transfers and adjust for angle, so feet are supported properly as leg length changes.

Bright colours

A full range of bright colours, which children care about a good deal more than the adults specifying the chair tend to expect.

About this product

The Super Chair for Kids is Future Mobility's paediatric tilt chair, made in Canada. It is for a child who needs the chair to reposition them through the day, and it is designed around the awkward fact that children grow while equipment does not.

Seat width and depth both grow without changing frame members, from 10 to 13 inches or 13 to 16 inches in width, and 11 to 14 inches or 13 to 16 inches in depth. That means the chair is adjusted as the child grows rather than replaced, which matters both for funding cycles and for a child who has got used to their chair.

Tilt, and why it matters here

The chair tilts from 3 to 40 degrees, with an optional 21 degrees of recline. Tilting moves weight off the sitting bones without changing the seated posture, so pressure is relieved without the child sliding out of position. For a child who cannot shift their own weight, that repositioning has to come from the chair and the person pushing it.

A posi-lock mechanism holds the chair in the tilted position, operated from the tilt handle, so the position is set deliberately rather than held. The axle plate gives a range of seat to floor heights and centre of gravity positions as the chair is set up.

Seating and finish

A complete seating system is standard: a two way contoured padded fixed headrest, the Super Chair Kids back and its matching cushion. Footplates flip up and adjust for angle, and the chair comes in a full range of bright colours, which children mind about considerably more than the people specifying the chair usually expect.
