Features & Benefits

Why this one

In-seat bidet

An in-seat bidet with front and rear cleansing modes lets someone wash thoroughly while seated, without standing or reaching behind.

Two cleansing modes

Front cleansing is a gentler spray than the rear, so the mode can be matched to what the person needs.

No electrics needed

The bidet connects straight to the water supply with no electrical connection and no batteries to maintain.

Open seat and sprayer

An open seat cutout gives access to hard-to-reach areas, and a handheld sprayer sits in an armrest holder within reach.

Anti-microbial treated

Backrest, seat and tips carry an anti-microbial treatment to resist stains and odours from bacteria, mould and mildew.

Six height positions

Seat height adjusts through six positions, so the chair suits different users and different tub heights.

Drains and grips

A contoured seat with drainage holes prevents water pooling, with padded non-slip seat, backrest and leg tips.

Transfer bench option

An optional transfer bench lets the user slide over the tub side seated, with a cutout that keeps the curtain in.

About this product

The Aquachair is a shower chair with a bidet built into the seat. It exists to solve a problem that a grab bar and a shower stool do not: cleaning yourself properly when you cannot stand, cannot reach behind you, or cannot manage both at once.

Why the bidet matters more than it sounds

Personal hygiene is usually the first thing people need help with and the last thing they want help with. Losing the ability to wash yourself is often what turns independent living into assisted living, and it is deeply undignified for the person on the receiving end.

The in-seat bidet with front and rear modes, combined with a handheld sprayer and an open seat, means someone can do the whole job themselves while seated. The front mode is a gentler spray than the rear. The chair was invented by a caregiver, Donna Jeffrey, after a kidney infection caused a sharp decline in her father's health and hygiene became their biggest challenge. That origin shows in the design.

No electrics in the bathroom

The bidet connects to the water supply directly. No electrical connection and no batteries, which removes both a safety consideration and an ongoing maintenance job in a wet room.

Details that matter in daily use

The seat and backrest are padded and non-slip, and the backrest, seat and tips are treated with an anti-microbial finish to resist the stains and odours that come from bacteria, mould and mildew in a constantly damp environment. The contoured seat has drainage holes so water does not pool.

Seat height adjusts through six positions, the shower spray sits in a holder in the armrest within easy reach, and the leg tips are non-skid for wet floors. The frame is rust-resistant aluminum and supports up to 350 lbs.

For getting in and out of the tub

An optional Splash Defense transfer accessory adds a bench so the user slides over the tub side from a seated position, with a patented U-shaped cutout that keeps the shower curtain inside the tub and stops water spilling onto the floor.
