Triumph Escape Low Seat Rollator
A Type 3 rollator with a low 21 inch seat, so a shorter user can sit with their feet flat on the floor.
Why this one
Low seat height
A 21 inch seat height, at the low end of the range, so a shorter user's feet reach the floor.
Feet flat matters
Dangling feet are unstable, and someone who cannot brace will not use the seat at all.
For shorter users
Suits anyone under about five foot four, or anyone who found a standard rollator seat too high.
Handles adjust separately
Handle height adjusts independently and should sit at the crease of your wrist with arms relaxed.
Built for outdoors
Larger wheels roll over pavement joints and kerb cuts rather than stopping dead at them.
ADP funded
A funded device under the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents, subject to criteria.
About this product
The Triumph Escape is a Type 3 rollator with a low 21 inch seat height, in grey.
A low seat is not a small detail
Rollator seat heights usually start around 21 inches and go up. For a shorter person, or anyone with short lower legs, a standard rollator leaves their feet dangling when they sit on it.
Dangling feet are unstable. The person cannot brace, cannot push up properly, and often will not use the seat at all, which removes the main reason for having a rollator rather than a walking frame.
A low seat means feet flat on the floor and knees at roughly a right angle, which is what makes sitting and standing safe.
Who it suits
Anyone under about five foot four, and anyone who has tried a standard rollator and found the seat too high to use comfortably.
If you are not sure, sit on one. It is immediately obvious whether the feet reach properly, and it is the single measurement worth checking before buying any rollator.
Handle height is separate
Handles adjust independently of the seat and should sit at the crease of your wrist when you stand upright with your arms relaxed. Set too high the shoulders hunch, too low and you stoop, and both make balance worse rather than better.
What Type 3 means
Larger wheels for real terrain. The Ontario Assistive Devices Program describes the Type 3 wheeled walker as most suitable for active use on most terrains, so bigger wheels roll over pavement joints and kerb cuts rather than stopping at them.
Funding
Type 3 rollators are funded devices under the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents, subject to clinical criteria.
