Why this one
Rollator and transport chair
The backrest flips over, converting the rollator into a transport chair someone can push you in.
One piece, not two
Walk while you can and sit when you cannot, without carrying a second piece of equipment.
For limited endurance
Most useful where endurance rather than balance is the limiting factor on a longer outing.
Heavier to lift
Heavier than a plain rollator, since it must be strong enough to carry someone seated.
Needs a second person
Needs someone available to push. Alone, it gives you a seat but not a way home.
Three seat heights
Three seat heights: F18 at 18 inches, F20 at 20 inches and F23 at 23 inches.
About this product
The Airgo Fusion is a Type 3 rollator that converts into a transport chair. The backrest flips over, so what was a rollator you walk behind becomes a chair someone can push you in.
Why a convertible matters
A lot of people can walk a reasonable distance and then run out. A shopping trip, an airport, a hospital corridor or a family outing is fine for the first while and then becomes too much.
The usual answer is to take both a rollator and a wheelchair, which means someone carrying or pushing the spare one. A convertible removes that entirely. You walk while you can, and when you cannot, the backrest flips and you sit down and are pushed.
For someone whose endurance is the limiting factor rather than their balance, this is often the single most useful piece of equipment they can own.
What to check first
A convertible is heavier than a plain rollator, because it has to be strong enough to carry someone seated. If lifting it into a car is difficult, that matters.
It also needs someone available to push. If you are usually out alone, a convertible gives you a seat to rest on but not a way to get home, so be honest about that when choosing.
Seat heights
F18 at 18 inches, F20 at 20 inches and F23 at 23 inches. Sit on it: feet flat, knees at roughly a right angle, and handle height set to the crease of your wrist with arms relaxed.
