10 inch castors
Ten inch front castors instead of the usual eight, so the rollator rolls over obstacles rather than stopping at them.
Better on rough ground
Pavement joints, kerb cuts, thresholds and gravel are all easier, with less jolting to unbalance the user.
Stands when folded
Folds side to side and stands upright on its own, so it parks against a wall rather than lying down.
Small folded footprint

About this product
The Drive Nitro is a Type 3 rollator with 10 inch front castors and a 21 inch seat height. A tall height version with a 23 inch seat is also available.
Ten inch castors
Most rollators run 8 inch wheels. The Nitro uses 10 inch front castors, and the difference is felt immediately on rough ground.
A larger castor rolls over an obstacle rather than stopping against it. Pavement joints, kerb cuts, door thresholds, gravel and grass are all easier, and the rollator is less likely to pull up short and jolt the user, which is where balance is lost.
For anyone who walks outdoors daily, particularly on older pavements, that is worth having.
Folds side to side
The Nitro folds across its width rather than front to back, so it stands upright on its own when folded. That means it can be parked against a wall in a hallway or a restaurant rather than laid down, and it takes up very little floor space.
It also fits more easily into a car boot alongside other things.
Getting the fit right
This one has a 21 inch seat height. Sit on it: feet flat on the floor, knees at roughly a right angle. If 21 inches is too low, the tall version has a 23 inch seat.
Handle height adjusts separately and should sit at the crease of your wrist with your arms relaxed at your sides.
Heavy duty option
We also stock the Nitro HD for higher weight capacity. If the user is near the limit of a standard rollator, ask us rather than assuming a standard frame will do.
Funding
Type 3 rollators are funded devices under the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents, subject to clinical criteria.
