Stella HD Heavy Duty Rollator
The heavy duty Stella, with a reinforced frame and a 23 inch seat height for a larger or taller user.
Why this one
Reinforced frame
The frame is built heavier throughout, so it stays rigid when weight shifts onto one side.
Rigid means trusted
A rollator that flexes feels unsafe, and someone who does not trust it will walk without it.
Width as well as weight
Seat width decides whether it is usable, since a person wider than the seat perches rather than rests.
23 inch seat height
A 23 inch seat height, suiting a taller user, with handle height adjusting separately.
Built for outdoors
Larger wheels roll over pavement joints and kerb cuts instead of stopping dead at them.
ADP funded
A funded device under the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents, subject to criteria.
About this product
The Stella HD is the heavy duty version of the Stella rollator, with a reinforced frame and a 23 inch seat height.
Reinforced, not simply rated higher
The frame is built heavier throughout rather than given a bigger number on the label. That is what keeps it rigid when weight shifts onto one side, which happens every time someone sits down, stands up, or leans on one handle to turn.
A rollator that flexes under load feels unsafe, and equipment that feels unsafe stops being used. Someone who does not trust their rollator will walk without it, which is the outcome you were trying to prevent.
Width matters as much as capacity
Weight rating gets the attention, but seat width decides whether the rollator is usable. If the person is wider than the seat, they perch rather than sit, and the rest that a rollator seat exists to provide does not happen.
Tell us the user's weight and their hip width measured seated, and we will confirm this is the right frame before you order.
Seat height
A 23 inch seat height, which suits a taller user. Sit on it: feet flat on the floor, knees at roughly a right angle. Handle height adjusts separately and should sit at the crease of your wrist with your arms relaxed.
If 23 inches is too tall, the standard Stella comes in 18 and 20 inch seat heights, and we can discuss whether a standard frame is sufficient.
What Type 3 means
Larger wheels for real terrain. The ADP describes the Type 3 wheeled walker as the type most suitable for active use on most terrains, and bigger wheels roll over pavement joints and kerb cuts rather than stopping at them.
Funding
Type 3 rollators are funded devices under the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents, subject to clinical criteria.
