Standard Commode Without Wheels
A 3-in-1 commode that works beside the bed, over the toilet or in the shower, on fixed legs that stay put.
Why this one
Toilet at the bedside
Works beside the bed with the pail in, so nobody has to cross the house at night when falls are most likely.
Fits over your toilet
Remove the pail and the frame stands over your existing toilet, raising the seat and adding armrests to push up from.
Stays put
Fixed legs rather than castors, so it stays exactly where you put it with nothing to lock or check.
Height adjustable
Leg height adjusts, so the feet rest flat with knees at a right angle, which is what makes standing up easier.
About this product
A standard commode: a steel frame chair with armrests, a toilet seat and lid, and a removable pail underneath. It does three jobs, which is why this type is often sold as 3-in-1.
Beside the bed
With the pail in place it works as a bedside toilet. That matters most at night, when someone is least steady, least awake and most likely to fall crossing the house. For many households this is the single change that stops night-time accidents.
Over the toilet
Take the pail out and the frame stands over your existing toilet. That raises the effective seat height and puts solid armrests either side to push up from, which is often all that is needed if the difficulty is getting up rather than getting there.
As a shower chair
It can be used in a shower if needed, though a purpose-made shower chair is better if that is the main use.
No wheels, and why that is fine
This version has fixed legs rather than castors. A commode that stays exactly where you put it is more stable to transfer onto, and there is nothing to lock or check. If the commode needs to be moved between rooms regularly, the wheeled version is the one to look at.
Setting it up
Adjust the leg height so the feet rest flat with the knees at roughly a right angle. Too low and standing up is hard work; too high and the feet dangle, which is unstable. Check all four legs are set the same and locked before use.
