About this product
The Aquatec Ocean Ergo is Invacare's premium shower commode chair, and the non-tilting version of the range. It is built around one idea: that a shower chair should encourage someone to sit upright and independently rather than simply contain them.
The ergonomic seat
The seat plate is contoured with a 5 degree posterior angle, which lifts the knees slightly into a more natural squat position. That is the posture the body actually adopts for toileting, and it makes a real difference to how easily and completely someone can use the chair.
Transfer supports at the front let the person position themselves comfortably rather than being placed. The whole design encourages a more upright seated position, which supports independence rather than assuming it is gone.
It fits where others do not
The Ocean Ergo has an optimised wheelbase and an overall width around 22 inches, which is narrow for a shower commode. That matters twice: it manoeuvres in a small bathroom, and it fits over a standard toilet properly rather than straddling it awkwardly.
