What a Raz chair is for
A Raz is a wheeled chair used for the entire bathroom routine. The person transfers into it once, is wheeled to the bathroom, positioned over the toilet, rolled into the shower, dried, and wheeled out. Everything happens in one chair.
The point is the transfers that no longer happen. A conventional routine might involve three or four, each one a chance to fall and each one physical work for a carer. Removing them changes the risk and the daily toll more than any single feature of the chair.
The range
Chairs are available attendant propelled or self propelled, with or without tilt, in standard, compact and heavy duty frames. Tilt suits someone who cannot hold themselves upright or needs pressure relief during a longer routine. The compact frame suits children, adolescents and smaller adults. Heavy duty frames carry substantially more weight.
All Raz chairs share stainless steel frames, adjustable-tension back upholstery, dual-locking castors, flip-up padded armrests and a moulded commode seat with Raz's Ischial and Pelvic Alignment System, which positions the seat properly under the person rather than approximately.
