Features & Benefits

Why this one

Simple by design

A fixed axle plate at zero camber means fewer settings to drift out of adjustment and less maintenance than a fully adjustable frame.

Two frame heights

Two hemi frames give a front seat height of either 13 inches, suited to foot propelling, or 15 to 15.5 inches for a taller user.

Three widths and depths

Frame widths of 16, 18 and 20 inches pair with seat depths of 16, 18 and 20 inches, so the fit is still made to the person.

Wheel choices

Rear wheels come in 20 or 22 inch, in lite spoke or five spoke mag, with a choice of anodized aluminum or plastic coated handrims.

Hanger options

Swing in and out hangers at 60 or 70 degrees help with transfers and getting close to counters, with elevating hangers available.

Flip-back armrests

Flip back height adjustable armrests span 10 to 15 inches and include a clothing guard, which makes side transfers easier.

Quick release axles

Quick release axles come as standard, so the rear wheels come off to cut the lifting weight when the chair goes into a car.

Quickship delivery

Ordered through Sunrise's Quickship programme, which uses a defined option set to shorten the wait between order and delivery.

About this product

The Quickie QX is Sunrise Medical's straightforward folding chair for someone who needs a properly fitted Type 2 wheelchair without paying for adjustment they will never use. It is the simpler of a pair: the QX runs a fixed axle plate at zero camber, while its sibling the QXi adds an adjustable axle plate and a wider option list.

For many people that simplicity is the point. A fixed axle plate means less to go out of adjustment and less to maintain, and the chair still comes in three frame widths and three seat depths, with two frame heights, a choice of wheels, castors, hangers and armrests. The fit is still made to the person, it is the tuning afterwards that is deliberately limited.

Two frame heights are offered. The lower one puts the front seat height at 13 inches, which suits a shorter user or anyone who propels with their feet. The higher frame sits at 15 or 15.5 inches for a taller adult or where transfers are easier from a higher seat.

Configuration

Frame width, seat depth, frame height, rear wheels, castors, hangers, armrests and wheel locks are all chosen when the chair is ordered, and some combinations depend on others. The specifications list the options available rather than one fixed build. Contact us to arrange an assessment.
