About this product
The Quickie M6 is Sunrise Medical's heavy duty folding chair, built on the design of the long running Quickie 2 but in high strength steel with a 650 lb capacity. It is intended for someone who needs a bariatric frame without giving up the configurability of a properly fitted chair.
Most heavy duty chairs feel vague to push because a wider frame flexes more under load. The M6 addresses that with a double locking cross brace and a stabilizer bar, which lock the frame rigid in use and unlock for folding. Less flex means more of each push reaching the wheels instead of being absorbed by the frame, which matters over a day of propelling.
The frame is modular, so width and depth can be changed later by replacing components rather than replacing the chair. That is worth knowing if someone's needs are expected to change. The adjustable axle plate improves wheel access, and low seat heights are available for anyone who propels with their feet.
