Features & Benefits

Why this one

Built to your measurements

Seat depth, width, back height, weight capacity, seat type and footrest angle are all chosen at order.

30 degrees of tilt

Thirty degrees of tilt for pressure relief and to hold someone who cannot stay upright unaided.

5 year rust guarantee

Stainless steel and guaranteed against rust for five years, in an environment that destroys ordinary frames.

Contoured headrest

A contoured urethane headrest supports the head once reclined, when head control usually becomes the limit.

Directional lock castor

Three locking castors plus one directional lock, so the chair holds straight as well as still over a toilet.

Wipe clean throughout

Urethane seat, back and arm pads wipe clean rather than absorbing, with a moulded sanitary cover.

Flip-back arms

Flip-back arms clear the sides completely for lateral transfers from a bed or wheelchair.

Made in Canada

Designed and built in Canada, with a rear axle receiver so propelling wheels can be added later.

About this product

The Horizon Tilt is Power Plus Mobility's tilting shower commode, made in Canada and built to order rather than picked from stock. It is a significant step up from a standard tilting commode, and it is specified around the person, the carer and the bathroom.

Built to your measurements

Seat depth, seat width, back height, weight capacity, seat type and footrest angle are all chosen at order. That is why there is no single specification here: two Horizon Tilts can be quite different chairs.

Three frame sizes run through the range, at 18, 20 and 22 inch seat widths, with the larger frames using extra heavy duty construction.

Thirty degrees of tilt

The seat tilts through 30 degrees for pressure relief during a long routine and to hold someone who cannot stay upright unaided. A contoured urethane headrest supports the head once reclined, which is the point at which head control usually becomes the limiting factor.

Designed around cleaning

Stainless steel, and guaranteed against rust for five years. That warranty is the useful signal: a chair used daily in a shower lives in the worst possible environment for metal, and five years against rust is a real commitment rather than a marketing line.

The seat, backrest and arm pads are urethane, which wipes clean rather than absorbing, and there is a moulded sanitary cover. Castors are rust resistant nylon.

Practical details

Flip-back arms clear the sides for lateral transfers. Three locking castors plus one directional lock, so the chair can be held straight as well as held still, which matters when pushing it over a toilet. A large 6 by 10 by 14 inch bucket, and a rear axle receiver so propelling wheels can be added.

Ordering

Specified with an occupational therapist, around posture, transfers and the bathroom itself. Contact us to arrange an assessment.
