HealthCraft P.T. Rail, Right Side
The right side folding toilet support rail, whose offset design prevents wrist strain when pushing up to stand.
Why this one
No wrist strain
The offset rail keeps your wrist straight when pushing down to stand, rather than bending it around an upper rail.
Right side rail
Mounts on your right as you sit. Left and right are different products, not mirrored labels.
Folds out of the way
Folds up flush against the wall when not needed, so the bathroom stays usable for everyone else.
Will not fall down
A friction hinge holds the rail wherever you leave it, so a steel rail cannot drop and cause injury.
400 lb capacity
Supports up to 400 lbs and exceeds ADA structural strength requirements for grab bars and fasteners.
Mounting options
A Wood Wall Plate spreads load where the wall is weak, and a Floor Mast suits where wall mounting is impossible.
About this product
The P.T. Rail from HealthCraft is a wall-mounted support rail designed specifically for the toilet. This is the right side version, mounting on your right as you sit.
The offset design
On a conventional dual rail system the two rails sit directly above one another, so pushing down on the lower rail to stand means bending your wrist around the upper one. Done several times a day with arthritic wrists, that hurts enough to put people off using the rail at all.
The P.T. Rail offsets the rails so the lower one is clear and the wrist stays straight. If someone has tried other toilet rails and found them uncomfortable, this is the design that addresses it.
It folds away
The rail lifts flush against the wall when not in use, so the bathroom is not permanently obstructed for everyone else.
The friction hinge holds it wherever you leave it, including partly raised. It will not drop under its own weight, which on a steel rail beside a toilet is a genuine injury risk rather than a nuisance.
Left or right, and why it matters
Because the rails are offset, left and right are genuinely different products rather than mirrored labels. This one mounts on your right as you sit on the toilet.
Which you need depends on which side has a wall and which side the person needs support. If the stronger arm is on one side, the rail usually goes there. Many installations use both.
Strength
Supports up to 400 lbs, with an ADA compliant 1.5 inch rail diameter, exceeding ADA structural strength requirements for grab bars and fasteners.
Mounting and installation
It needs solid structural fixing. A Wood Wall Plate is available to spread the load where the wall is weak, and a Floor Mast where wall mounting is not possible at all.
The price shown is for the rail only. Delivery and installation are quoted separately.
