Go-Lite Bariatric Steel Rollator
A heavy duty steel Type 2 rollator with a wider seat, for a larger user who needs a frame that will not flex.
Why this one
Steel frame
A steel frame is heavier than aluminum but considerably stronger, which is the right trade at this capacity.
Rigid means trusted
A frame that flexes feels unsafe, and someone who does not trust their rollator will walk without it.
Width as well as weight
Seat width decides whether it is usable, since a person wider than the seat perches rather than rests.
Heavier to lift
Steel is a real lift into a car, so tell us if it will be loaded and unloaded regularly.
Better indoors
Smaller Type 2 wheels are nimbler indoors but catch more on rough ground outdoors.
Type 3 HD available
For daily outdoor use at this capacity, ask about a heavy duty Type 3 such as Stella HD or Nitro HD.
About this product
The Go-Lite Bariatric is a heavy duty steel rollator, built for a higher weight capacity and a broader user.
Steel rather than aluminum
Most rollators are aluminum, which keeps them light. This one is steel, which is heavier but considerably stronger.
That is the right trade at this capacity. A frame that flexes when weight shifts onto one side feels unsafe, and equipment that feels unsafe stops being used. Someone who does not trust their rollator will walk without it, which is exactly the fall you were trying to prevent.
The weight is worth knowing about though. A steel rollator is a real lift into a car, so if it will be loaded and unloaded regularly, tell us and we will talk through the options.
Width matters as much as capacity
Weight rating gets the attention, but seat width decides whether a rollator is usable. If the person is wider than the seat, they perch rather than sit, and the rest that the seat exists to provide never happens.
Tell us the user's weight and their hip width measured seated, and we will confirm the frame before you order.
What Type 2 means
Smaller wheels than a Type 3, so it is nimbler indoors and in tight spaces, and catches more on rough ground outdoors. If the person is out on pavements and uneven ground daily, ask us about a heavy duty Type 3 such as the Stella HD or Nitro HD instead.
Fit
Sit on it: feet flat on the floor, knees at roughly a right angle. Handle height should sit at the crease of your wrist with your arms relaxed at your sides.
