Basic Steel Four Wheel Rollator
A straightforward four wheel steel rollator with a seat and brakes, for temporary needs or a first rollator.
Why this one
Does the essentials
Four wheels, a seat, brakes and a basket. The essentials, at the lowest price we stock.
For temporary needs
Suits a temporary need after surgery, a spare at a family member's house, or a first rollator.
Heavier than aluminum
Steel is heavier than aluminum, so choose a lightweight model if it goes in a car regularly.
Fits average builds
A narrower adjustment range, so it fits an average build well and an unusual one less well.
Fit still matters
Still set the handles to the wrist crease, since stooping causes back and shoulder pain at any price.
Honest advice
If a basic rollator will do the job, we will tell you so rather than sell you more.
About this product
A basic four wheel steel rollator. Straightforward, sturdy and the least expensive rollator we stock.
When basic is the right answer
Not every situation needs a specified rollator. Someone recovering from surgery who will be back to normal in six weeks, a spare kept at a family member's house, or a first rollator for someone who is not yet sure they will use one.
In those cases a straightforward rollator that works is better than an expensive one chosen carefully for a need that changes.
It does the essential things: four wheels for stability, a seat to rest on, brakes, and somewhere to put your shopping.
What you are giving up
Steel is heavier than aluminum. If it will be lifted into a car regularly, that matters, and a lightweight model is worth the difference.
Basic rollators also have a narrower adjustment range, so they fit an average build well and a very tall, very short or broader person less well. If the user is outside average, a fitted model will be considerably more comfortable.
Still get the fit right
Even on a basic rollator, sit on it and check your feet rest flat with knees at roughly a right angle. Handle height should sit at the crease of your wrist with your arms relaxed.
Handles set too low make you stoop, which puts your weight forward of your feet and causes back and shoulder pain. That is worth getting right whatever you pay.
