Evolution Low Wide DX Rollator
A wide frame rollator with a low 21 inch seat, for someone who is broad but not tall.
Why this one
Low and wide together
A wide frame with a low 21 inch seat, an unusual pairing that standard ranges handle badly.
For broad, not tall
Suits someone broad but not tall, who otherwise gets a seat that is either too high or too narrow.
Width makes the seat work
A seat too narrow to sit on properly turns a rollator into a heavier walking frame.
Rest is the point
Being able to rest is what makes a longer walk possible, so the seat has to actually fit.
Handles adjust too
Handle height adjusts separately and should sit at the crease of your wrist with arms relaxed.
ADP funded
A funded device under the Assistive Devices Program for eligible Ontario residents, subject to criteria.
About this product
The Evolution Low Wide DX is a wide frame rollator with a 21 inch seat height, in black.
Low and wide together
Most rollator ranges adjust for height only. This one is built wider as well, and combines that with a low seat height, which is an unusual pairing.
It suits someone who is broad but not tall, which a standard range handles badly. Give them a wide frame and the seat is usually too high; give them a low seat and it is too narrow to sit on properly. Either way they end up perching rather than resting, and the seat stops doing its job.
At 21 inches on a wide frame, both measurements are right at once.
Why width matters on a rollator
The seat is the main reason to choose a rollator over a walking frame. Knowing you can sit down at any point is what makes a longer walk possible, and people confident they can rest go further and stay out longer.
If the seat is too narrow to sit on comfortably, that benefit disappears and you have bought a heavier walking frame.
Getting the fit right
Sit on it: feet flat on the floor, knees at roughly a right angle. Handle height adjusts separately and should sit at the crease of your wrist with your arms relaxed at your sides.
Tell us the user's height and their hip width measured seated, and we will confirm the frame.
