Transfer Bench with Curtain Guard Protection
A 400 lb transfer bench with a curtain guard that keeps the shower curtain in the tub, so water stays off the bathroom floor.
Why this one
Keeps water in the tub
The curtain guard keeps the shower curtain inside the tub, so water does not run down the bench onto the bathroom floor.
Prevents a wet floor
A dry floor matters because it is the surface you stand up onto, and a wet one turns safety equipment into a hazard.
400 lb capacity
Rated to 400 lbs, higher than a standard bench, so it suits more users without moving to a bariatric frame.
No stepping over
Straddles the tub wall so you sit down outside and slide in, with height adjustable legs and non-slip tips.
About this product
A transfer bench with curtain guard protection, rated to 400 lbs. It does the same job as a standard bench, letting you sit down outside the bath and slide across rather than stepping over, but it solves the problem that comes with every transfer bench.
The water problem
A transfer bench has to straddle the tub wall, which means the shower curtain cannot close properly around it. The result is water running down the outside section and onto the bathroom floor, every single wash.
That is not just a nuisance. A wet bathroom floor beside a bath is exactly the surface someone is about to stand up onto, and it is how a piece of safety equipment ends up causing the fall it was bought to prevent. It also means someone mopping the floor after every bath.
The curtain guard keeps the shower curtain tucked inside the tub where it belongs, so water stays in the bath.
Capacity
Rated to 400 lbs, higher than a standard bench, so it suits a wider range of users without moving to a bariatric frame.
Setting it up
Height adjustable legs with non-slip tips, set independently inside and outside the tub since the floor and tub base are rarely level. A backrest gives support while washing.
Also worth knowing
Add a handheld shower head. A fixed overhead shower is aimed at someone standing, so seated it mostly sprays the wall, and it will also defeat the curtain guard by spraying over it.
