AquaSense Adjustable Transfer Bench

An adjustable transfer bench with independently set legs, so the seat sits level between the bathroom floor and the tub base.

Features & Benefits

Why this one

Independent leg adjustment

Legs adjust independently inside and outside the tub, so the seat sits level even though the floor and tub base differ.

No stepping over

Straddles the tub wall so you sit down outside and slide in, with no standing on one leg on a wet floor.

Set to the person

Seat height is set so feet rest flat with knees at a right angle, which makes both sliding across and standing up easier.

Non-slip tips

Non-slip tips grip both the bathroom floor and the tub base, so all four points stay in solid contact.

About this product

An adjustable transfer bench from AquaSense. It straddles the tub wall in the usual way, so you sit down outside the bath and slide across rather than stepping over, with adjustment built in to suit different bathrooms and different people.

Why adjustability matters here

Bathrooms are not standard. The floor outside the tub and the base inside it are rarely the same height, tub walls vary in depth, and people vary in leg length. A bench that only adjusts as a single unit ends up level with neither surface.

Independent leg adjustment means the outside pair can be set to the bathroom floor and the inside pair to the tub base, so the seat sits level and at the right height for the person's legs. A seat that is too high makes the slide across harder; too low and standing up afterwards becomes the problem.

Setting it up properly

Get the seat height so the person's feet rest flat with knees at roughly a right angle. Check the bench is level across the tub wall before use, and that all four tips are in solid contact. Non-slip tips grip both the floor and the tub base.

Also worth knowing

Add a handheld shower head. A fixed overhead shower is aimed at someone standing, so seated it mostly sprays the wall rather than the person.

Not sure which bench

We stock standard, padded, bariatric, curtain guard, sliding and swivel versions. Tell us how the person manages now and where it goes wrong, and we will point you at the right one.
