Features & Benefits

Why this one

No foot section

Covers the calf with no foot, so you wear your own socks and your footwear fits as normal.

On and off over shoes

Goes on and comes off without removing shoes, which is why people wear them after events.

Firmer than most sleeves

20-30 mmHg is firmer than the usual 15-20 sports compression, for harder training and longer events.

For heavy standing work

Also suits standing work where legs ache badly by the end of a shift and milder compression does little.

Sized by calf, not shoe

Calf circumference decides the size. Too small and it bands at the top, which defeats graduated compression.

Check if you have a condition

Medical grade compression, so ask your doctor first if you have any circulatory condition.

About this product

Sigvaris 412 Performance Sleeve, a 20-30 mmHg calf sleeve in black, available in medium and large.

A sleeve, not a sock

This covers the calf and stops at the ankle. There is no foot.

That matters for two reasons. You wear your own socks with it, which suits athletes who are particular about what is on their feet, and it can be worn with cycling shoes, running shoes or work boots without changing the fit of the footwear.

It also means the sleeve can go on and come off without taking your shoes off, which is why people wear them after events and on the journey home.

20-30 mmHg, which is firmer than most sports compression

Most athletic compression is 15-20 mmHg. This is the next level up, and it is noticeably firmer.

That suits harder training loads, longer events, and people who have found milder sleeves do not do much for them. It is also the level often used for standing work where the legs ache badly by the end of a shift.

Because it is medical grade compression, it is worth mentioning to your doctor if you have any circulatory condition, and anyone with poor arterial circulation, diabetes with neuropathy or uncontrolled heart failure should ask before wearing it.

A note on the calf

A sleeve grips the calf at both ends. If it is too small it acts like a band at the top, which is the opposite of what graduated compression should do.

Calf circumference decides the size, not shoe size or height. Measure, or come in and we will.
