Raised Toilet Seat, Standard 4" with Arms
A 4 inch raised seat with arms for a standard toilet, the height usually recommended after hip surgery.
Why this one
4 inches of height
Raises a standard toilet to around 19 inches, above chair height, for someone who genuinely struggles to stand.
Suits hip precautions
The height most often recommended after hip replacement, where the knee must stay below the hip.
Arms to push up from
Arms give something to push up from and steady against, doing most of the work when legs cannot be trusted.
For standard toilets
Shaped for standard round bowls. Measure bolts to front rim: about 16.5 inches means standard.
About this product
A 4 inch raised toilet seat with arms from MOBB, for a standard round toilet.
Four inches, and who it suits
This raises a standard 15 inch toilet to roughly 19 inches. That is above chair height, and it suits someone who genuinely struggles to stand: significant knee or hip restriction, weak legs, or recovery from hip surgery where bending past 90 degrees is not allowed.
For someone who only needs a little help, 2 or 3.5 inches is usually the better answer, and leaves the feet more solidly on the floor.
After hip surgery
This is the height most often recommended after a hip replacement, because hip precautions require the knee to stay below the hip. A higher seat is what makes that possible on a toilet.
If that is the situation, the seat is usually needed quickly and for a limited period, so ask us about what else helps during recovery: a toilet frame, a long-handled reacher, and a raised chair seat.
The arms
Arms give something to push up from and something to steady against when lowering. After surgery, when legs cannot be trusted, they do most of the work.
Please check the shape
This seat is for standard, round toilets. Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim: about 16.5 inches is standard, about 18.5 is elongated.
