Raises a standard toilet to about chair height, enough to help while keeping the feet flat on the floor.
Arms to push up from
Arms give something to lift with, which matters more than height if leg strength is the real problem.
For standard toilets
Shaped for standard round bowls. Measure bolts to front rim: about 16.5 inches means standard.
Height has a limit
Taller is not automatically better. A higher seat can lift the feet clear of the floor and reduce stability.
About this product
A 3.5 inch raised toilet seat with arms, for a standard round toilet. The same seat as our elongated 3.5 inch version, shaped for the other bowl type.
A sensible middle height
It raises a standard 15 inch toilet to roughly 18.5 inches, close to chair height. That is usually enough to make standing manageable while keeping the feet flat on the floor, which is what keeps the movement stable.
Taller is not automatically better. A 5 inch seat suits someone with very restricted knees, but for an average height person it can lift the feet clear of the floor and make standing harder rather than easier.
Arms do as much as height
Height reduces how far you have to lift yourself. Arms give you something to lift with. If leg strength is the real difficulty, the arms are doing more work than the extra inches.
Please check the shape
This seat is for standard, round toilets. Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim: about 16.5 inches means standard, about 18.5 means elongated. We stock the same seat in elongated.
Getting this wrong is the commonest reason a raised seat is returned, and it takes thirty seconds with a tape measure to avoid.
Everyday use
Check the seat is secure on the bowl before each use, particularly if it is lifted off for cleaning or so others can use the toilet normally.
