Pride Jazzy Carbon Folding Power Wheelchair
A folding travel power wheelchair on a carbon fibre frame, 39.6 lbs without its battery, that fits a car boot without an adapted vehicle.
Why this one
39 lb carbon frame
A carbon fibre frame weighs 39.6 lbs without the battery and still carries 300 lbs, a strength to weight ratio other materials cannot match.
Folds without tools
Folds in a few motions without tools, down to 28.3 by 24 by 12.2 inches, which fits a car boot or an overhead locker.
24 inch turning radius
A 24 inch turning radius is tight for a power chair, so it works around a house rather than only in open spaces.
Suspension and real wheels
Keeps 8.5 inch drive wheels and front suspension, which most folding chairs drop to reach a lower weight, so it handles pavements and thresholds.
Airline ready battery
The 24V lithium battery is built to airline standards, though every airline sets its own policy and should be checked before you fly.
Free-wheel levers
Free-wheel levers disengage the drive so the chair can be pushed like a manual one if the battery runs low or a companion takes over.
9 miles per charge
Range of up to 9.3 miles on a charge, with a smart charger that protects the battery against overcharging.
Lifetime frame warranty
Pride covers the frame with a limited lifetime warranty, and the battery, electronics and drivetrain for one year.
About this product
The Jazzy Carbon is a folding travel power wheelchair, and it belongs to a different category from the complex rehab chairs elsewhere in this section. It exists to solve one problem: getting a powered chair into a car boot, onto a plane or into a hotel room without needing an adapted vehicle or a hoist.
A carbon fibre frame is what makes that possible. The chair weighs 39.6 lbs without its battery and 43.6 lbs with it, yet still carries 300 lbs. Carbon has the strength-to-weight ratio to do both, which is why the chair does not feel flimsy the way lighter folding chairs often do.
What it keeps that other travel chairs drop
Most folding power chairs hit a low weight by giving things up. The Jazzy Carbon keeps 8.5 inch drive wheels and front suspension, so it handles pavements and thresholds rather than only smooth indoor floors. Its 24 inch turning radius is genuinely tight, so it works in a house and not just an airport concourse.
Travel details
It folds in a few motions without tools, down to 28.3 by 24 by 12.2 inches. The lithium battery is built to airline standards, though transport on any commercial flight is subject to that airline's own policy and should always be checked before travelling. Free-wheel levers disengage the drive so the chair can be pushed like a manual one if the battery runs low or a companion needs to take over.
Is it the right kind of chair
A travel chair suits someone who needs powered mobility for distance and outings but does not need powered seating, tilt, recline or a prescribed postural system. If someone sits in their chair all day, or needs pressure relief and positioning, a complex rehab base is the right answer instead. Contact us and we will talk it through honestly.
