Hinged Raised Toilet Seat with Arms, Elongated 2"
A 2 inch raised seat with arms for elongated toilets that hinges up like an ordinary seat.
Why this one
Hinged and with arms
Hinges up like an ordinary toilet seat while still having arms, which most seats with arms cannot do.
For shared bathrooms
Everyone else lifts it and uses the toilet normally, so it stays in use rather than causing friction.
Arms to push up from
Arms give something to lift with, which matters more than height when leg strength is the problem.
Control sitting down
Arms also control the descent, so the person lowers themselves rather than dropping onto the seat.
For elongated toilets
Shaped for elongated bowls. Measure bolts to front rim: about 18.5 inches means elongated.
Check it periodically
More moving parts than a plain raised seat, so check the hinge, arms and mountings periodically.
About this product
A 2 inch hinged raised toilet seat with arms, for an elongated toilet. It combines the two features people usually have to choose between.
Hinged and with arms
Most raised seats with arms are a fixed assembly that sits on the bowl and stays there. That suits the person who needs it and inconveniences everyone else in the house.
This one hinges, so it lifts out of the way like an ordinary toilet seat. The person who needs the height and the arms uses it; everyone else lifts it and uses the toilet normally.
In a one bathroom home, that is usually what decides whether the equipment stays in use or quietly gets removed.
Why the arms matter
Height reduces how far someone has to lower and lift themselves. Arms give them something to lift with. Where leg strength is the real difficulty the arms do most of the work, and at 2 inches of lift that is particularly true.
They also control the descent, so the person lowers themselves rather than dropping the last few inches onto the seat.
Please check the shape
This one is for elongated toilets. Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim: about 18.5 inches means elongated, about 16.5 means standard. We stock the same seat in standard.
Bowl shape is the commonest reason a raised seat is sent back, and checking takes thirty seconds.
Everyday use
Check the hinge, the arms and the mountings periodically, since there are more moving parts here than on a plain raised seat.
