Handicare Freecurve Curved Stairlift

A premium curved stairlift on a single tube rail, custom made for spiral, narrow and steep staircases that defeat other systems.

Features & Benefits

Why this one

Single tube rail

The only single tube curved rail available in North America, which is what lets it fit spiral, narrow and steep staircases.

Fewer joints

A typical Freecurve rail has three or four joints against ten to twenty on modular systems, so the ride stays smooth for longer.

See it before you order

The PS4D photo survey produces a virtual preview of the seat and rail on your own staircase before you commit to an order.

Turn and Go

Turn and Go swivels the seat forward automatically while travelling, so the lift takes less width around a bend.

Active seat option

The Active Seat gently raises and lowers to help you in and out, useful if standing from seated is the hard part.

Three seat styles

Three seat styles developed with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, each in three colours, plus three rail colours.

Charge anywhere

A joystick in the armrest, two wireless remotes, and charging at both ends plus park points along the rail.

Installation included

Our price covers delivery, electrical connection, professional installation and user training, not just the lift itself.

About this product

The Freecurve is Handicare's premium curved stairlift and the only single tube curved rail available in North America. Most curved lifts run on twin rails; this one uses a single tube, which is why it copes with spiral, narrow and steep staircases that defeat other systems.

Fewer joints, and why that matters years later

The rail is fabricated as one piece for your staircase rather than assembled from standard sections. A typical Freecurve rail has three or four joints. A modular curved lift pieced together from stock parts can have ten to twenty.

Every joint is a place where alignment can drift. More joints means a rougher ride and more wear on the drive over the life of the lift. This is the sort of difference you do not notice on the day of installation and notice a great deal in year five.

You see it before you buy it

The staircase is measured with Handicare's PS4D photo survey system, which also produces a virtual preview of the seat and rail on your own stairs before you order. On a purchase this size, seeing the actual rail on your actual staircase removes most of the guesswork.

Seats designed by clinicians

Three styles: Classic, Elegance and Alliance, developed with physiotherapists and occupational therapists rather than chosen on looks alone. Each comes in three colours, and there are three rail colours, so the lift can be matched to the house.

The Active Seat option gently raises and lowers to help you in and out of the chair, which is worth asking about if standing from a seated position is the difficult part.

For genuinely tight staircases

Turn and Go swivels the seat forward automatically while you are travelling, so the lift occupies less width going round a bend. That is what lets the Freecurve fit staircases other lifts cannot. A powered folding rail and a zero landing intrusion option deal with doorways at the top or bottom.

Controls, safety and what our price includes

A joystick in the armrest, two wireless remotes, and charging at both ends plus multiple park points along the rail. Obstruction sensors, key switch, emergency stop and battery operation during a power cut.

Delivery, electrical connection, professional installation and user training are included, with a two year full warranty and lifetime cover on the motor and gearbox.
