Atlas Cardinal Outdoor Stairlift
A straightforward outdoor straight stairlift with weather-resistant components and a protective cover, rated to 275 lbs.
Why this one
275 lb capacity
Rated to 275 lbs, which is lower than most outdoor stairlifts, so the user's weight needs confirming before anything else.
Weather-resistant kit
The outdoor kit replaces vulnerable components with weather-resistant versions, so the lift survives being exposed.
Cover included
A protective cover is included, keeping the seat clean and dry between uses in wet or snowy conditions.
Two remotes supplied
Two remote controls are supplied, so the lift can be called from either landing rather than walked to.
About this product
The Cardinal is a straight stairlift built around simplicity, and this is the outdoor specification. The outdoor kit replaces the vulnerable components with weather-resistant versions and adds a protective cover, so the seat stays dry and clean between uses.
Check the capacity first
The Cardinal carries 275 lbs. That is lower than most outdoor straight stairlifts, and lower than the Handicare 1000 Outdoor we also supply, which starts at 350 lbs. If the user is anywhere near 275 lbs, this is not the right lift and we will say so rather than sell it to you. Weight capacity is the first thing to establish on any stairlift, before layout or colour.
Where it suits
Outdoor stairlifts are for steps up to a porch, a deck, a side entrance or a garden, where an indoor lift would fail within a season. If your outdoor steps are straight, the user is comfortably within the weight limit and you want a straightforward lift rather than a long options list, the Cardinal is worth considering.
Everyday details
A retractable seat belt works like a car belt, adjusting and stowing itself rather than hanging loose. Two remote controls come as standard, so the lift can be called from either end, which matters when more than one person uses it or when it has been left at the wrong landing.
Seat upholstery comes in blue, brown, grey, beige or red.
Ordering
Outdoor installations need the steps measured and the power supply located, and Ontario winters make weather exposure worth discussing properly. Contact us to arrange a survey and we will confirm whether the Cardinal or a higher capacity outdoor lift suits your situation.
