Flow-X Curved Stairlift
A curved stairlift for the most difficult staircases, fitting 24 inch widths and inclines to 72 degrees, with a seat that swivels while moving.
Why this one
Fits 24 inch stairs
Fits staircases as narrow as 24 inches, which is narrower than most stairlifts can manage at all.
Swivels while moving
Advanced Swivel and Levelling rotates the seat while the lift is moving, so it presents its narrowest aspect through tight bends.
Inclines to 72 degrees
Handles inclines up to 72 degrees, considerably steeper than most lifts, which suits older and converted homes.
Fitted to the stairs
The rail fixes to the staircase rather than the wall, so installation is quicker and wall construction is irrelevant.
Automatic folding option
Seat and footrest fold automatically at the push of a button, useful where bending or reaching is difficult.
Open access armrests
Tapered armrests with an open access position make sliding on and off easier, with detection that prevents use if misplaced.
Call device option
An integrated call device can be programmed with up to three numbers and dialled from the lift, useful for someone living alone.
Light Assist option
Light Assist illuminates the seat, armrest and footrest for anyone using the stairs at night.
About this product
The Flow-X is the stairlift for staircases other lifts cannot manage. It fits stairs as narrow as 24 inches and handles inclines up to 72 degrees, which is considerably steeper than most lifts will take. If a survey has already ruled out other options, this is the one worth asking about.
The seat turns while it is moving
That capability comes from Advanced Swivel and Levelling, and it is unique to this lift. Rather than travelling square to the rail and swivelling only at the top, the seat rotates as it goes, so it presents its narrowest aspect through the tightest part of the staircase and stays level throughout.
The practical effect is that a staircase which measures too narrow on paper for a conventional lift can often still take a Flow-X.
Fitted to the stairs
The rail mounts to the staircase rather than the wall, so installation is quicker and less disruptive, and the condition of your walls does not matter. A single discreet rail can be fitted on either side.
Comfort and transfers
The seat has a slight recline and a high back, adjusts through four height positions, and the footrest comes in two sizes with five height positions. The armrests are tapered with an open access position, which makes sliding on and off easier, and they carry smart detection that prevents the lift operating if they are not correctly positioned.
Automatic folding is available: seat and footrest fold at the push of a button rather than by hand, which matters if bending or reaching is difficult.
Two options worth knowing about
Light Assist illuminates the seat, armrest and footrest, for anyone using the stairs at night. The integrated call device can be programmed with up to three phone numbers and dialled from the lift itself, which is real reassurance for someone living alone.
