Atlas Rave 2 Straight Stairlift

A compact straight stairlift that folds to just over 11 inches, fixes to the stairs rather than the wall, and carries 350 lbs.

Features & Benefits

Why this one

Suits narrow stairs

Folds to just over 11 inches from the wall, so others can still use the stairs normally, which matters on a narrow staircase.

350 lb capacity

Rated to 350 lbs, at the upper end for a straight stairlift, so it suits a wide range of users.

Works in a power cut

Battery powered with mains charging, so the lift still works during a power cut rather than stranding someone.

Mounts to the stairs

The rail fixes to the stair treads rather than the wall, so wall construction is irrelevant and nothing is drilled into plaster.

Folding rail option

A folding rail is available so the bottom of the rail swings clear of a doorway or hallway that must stay accessible.

Left or right mounting

Can be fitted on either side of the staircase, so the lift goes where the space and the handrail allow.

Easy-grip controls

Ergonomic controls designed to be usable with limited dexterity or grip, worth trying in person if arthritis is a factor.

Flip-up seat and arms

The seat swivels and the seat and armrests flip up, which leaves more room on the stairs when parked and makes stepping off at the top easier.

About this product

The Rave 2 is a straight stairlift built to take up as little of the staircase as possible. Folded, the unit projects only a little over 11 inches from the wall, so anyone else in the house can still use the stairs normally. On a narrow staircase that is often the deciding factor.

It fixes to the stairs, not the wall

The rail mounts to the stair treads themselves, with a single bracket at each contact point. That matters for two reasons. Your wall condition and construction become irrelevant, so plaster, lath or hollow partitions are not a problem, and installation is simpler and less invasive. Nothing is drilled into your walls.

It works when the power does not

The lift runs from batteries that charge from an ordinary socket, so a power cut does not leave anyone stranded halfway up or stuck on the wrong floor. This is standard on quality stairlifts and worth confirming on any lift you compare.

Capacity and control

Rated to 350 lbs, at the upper end for a straight stairlift. The controls are ergonomic and designed to be usable by someone with limited dexterity or grip, which is worth checking in person if arthritis is part of the picture. A key switch prevents the lift being operated by anyone who should not, useful where there are grandchildren in the house.

Options worth considering

A folding rail lets the bottom of the rail swing up out of the way, which matters if the staircase ends near a doorway or a hall that has to stay clear. The lift can be mounted on either side of the stairs, and the track is cut to your measurements.

Ordering

Straight stairlifts need the staircase to be genuinely straight with no bend or landing. We measure before quoting. Contact us to arrange a survey.
