Evolution Lift Chair, Three Position

A three position lift recliner in small, medium and large, so the chair is sized to the person.

Features & Benefits

Why this one

Three sizes

Small, medium and large, where most lift chairs come in one size and expect everyone to fit it.

Why size matters

A chair too deep means perching forward and losing the back support entirely, which no feature fixes.

Measured properly

Sized by height, weight and the measurement from the back of the knee to the floor.

Three positions

Upright, television recline and near-flat for napping, which covers what most people use.

The lift is the point

The seat tilts forward and rises so you take your own weight for the last part of standing.

When to spend more

Choose infinite position instead if the person sleeps in the chair or needs feet above the heart.

About this product

The Evolution is a three position power lift recliner, and unusually it comes in small, medium and large.

Why three sizes matters more than the features list

Most lift chairs are made in one size and expect everyone to fit it. That works for people of average height and suits nobody else.

A chair too deep for a shorter person means they cannot get their back against the backrest. They perch forward, lose the back support entirely, and end up sliding. A chair too small for a taller person leaves their knees high and their feet badly placed, and it is uncomfortable within twenty minutes.

Sizing the chair to the person solves a problem that no amount of recline or upholstery fixes.

How we size it

Height and weight decide most of it, and the measurement from the back of the knee to the floor decides seat height. When seated properly, the back should be against the backrest and the feet flat with the knees at roughly a right angle.

Come in and sit in all three. It takes a few minutes and it is immediately obvious which one fits.

Three position

The back and footrest move together through three set positions: upright, a television recline, and near-flat for napping. That covers what most people use day to day.

If the person sleeps in the chair rather than going to bed, or needs their feet above their heart for leg swelling, they need an infinite position chair with independent motors instead.

The lift itself

The seat tilts forward and rises, bringing you close to standing so you take your own weight for the last part. For someone who walks but cannot get out of a low chair, that is the whole reason for buying one.

Before delivery

Measure the doorway and the clearance behind the chair, and check there is a power outlet where it will go.
