Two inches with arms, which is often the right combination
People assume height is what a raised seat provides, but for many the arms matter more. Height reduces how far you have to lower and lift yourself; arms give you something to lift with.
If the person has reasonable knee movement but weak arms or legs, a modest 2 inch lift plus solid arms often works better than a taller seat with nothing to hold. It also keeps the feet flat on the floor, which is what makes standing stable.
The lid
Most raised toilet seats have no lid, which people find surprisingly unpleasant. A lid keeps the bathroom looking and feeling normal rather than clinical, and it is more hygienic.
It matters particularly in a shared bathroom, or where someone is reluctant to have visible medical equipment in their home. That reluctance is a real reason people refuse aids they need.

This seat is for standard, round toilets. Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim: about 16.5 inches means standard, about 18.5 means elongated.
