Features & Benefits

Why this one

4 inches of height

Raises a standard toilet to about 19 inches, above chair height, for significant knee or hip restriction.

Suits hip precautions

The height usually recommended after hip surgery, where the knee must stay below the hip.

Comes with a lid

A lid keeps the bathroom looking normal rather than clinical, which many raised seats do not offer.

Check foot contact

Check the feet still reach the floor at this height, since dangling feet make standing less stable.

Add a frame if needed

Gives height, not support. Add a toilet safety frame if something to push up from is needed.

About this product

A 4 inch raised toilet seat with a lid, from AquaSense. No arms, for a standard round toilet.

Four inches is a real change

This raises a standard 15 inch toilet to about 19 inches, which is above chair height. It suits someone with significant knee or hip restriction, or recovering from hip surgery where the knee must stay below the hip.

Check the feet still reach the floor comfortably once it is fitted. At 4 inches they may not, particularly for a shorter person, and feet that dangle make standing less stable rather than more. If that is a concern, 2 inches with a toilet frame may work better than 4 inches alone.

No arms, and what that means

It gives height, not support. There is nothing to push up from, so if the person needs something to lift themselves with, either choose a seat with arms or add a toilet safety frame around the toilet.

The frame route is worth considering, because it lets you set the height and the support independently rather than compromising on both.

The lid

Included, which many raised seats do not have. It keeps the bathroom looking and feeling normal rather than clinical, and it is more hygienic.

Please check the shape

This seat is for standard, round toilets. Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim: about 16.5 inches means standard, about 18.5 means elongated. We stock the same seat in elongated.
