A 4 inch raised toilet seat from AquaSense, without arms, for an elongated toilet.
Four inches is a real change
It raises a standard 15 inch toilet to about 19 inches, above chair height. That suits someone with significant knee or hip restriction, or recovering from hip surgery where the knee must stay below the hip.
Check the feet still reach the floor comfortably once fitted. At this height they may not, particularly for a shorter person, and feet that dangle make standing less stable rather than more.
If that is a worry, 2 inches combined with a toilet safety frame often works better than 4 inches on its own, because it separates the height from the support.
No arms
This gives height, not support. There is nothing to push up from, so if the person needs something to lift themselves with, choose a seat with arms or add a frame around the toilet.
Please check the shape
This seat is for elongated toilets. Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim: about 18.5 inches means elongated, about 16.5 means standard. We stock the same seat in standard.
Bowl shape is the commonest reason a raised seat is sent back, and it takes thirty seconds with a tape measure.
Everyday use
Check the seat is secure on the bowl before each use, particularly if it is lifted off for cleaning.
