Features & Benefits

Why this one

Even wheels, tight turns

Same sized wheels front and back give an even, predictable turn in a confined space, rather than pivoting around larger rear wheels.

Narrow for indoors

Built narrow for hallways, doorways and lifts, where width matters more indoors than wheel size does.

Pushed, not propelled

Four small wheels and no handrims mean the chair is pushed by a companion, which is what keeps it light and slim.

Folds flat

The back folds down and the frame folds flat, so it stores in a cupboard or goes in a car boot without a struggle.

About this product

A narrow folding transport chair built for indoor use: hallways, doorways, lifts and turning inside a home or a care setting. It is pushed by a companion rather than self propelled, which is what keeps it light and slim.

Why an indoor chair is different

Indoor transport chairs are made narrower than outdoor ones, because the constraint inside a building is width, not terrain. A chair that fits through a bathroom door and turns at the top of a landing is worth more indoors than one with bigger wheels. The trade is that smaller wheels feel harsh over pavement joints and kerb cuts, so if the chair will spend real time outside, choose the outdoor version instead. Households that need both often keep one of each.

Pushed, not self propelled

Four small wheels and no handrims mean the person sitting in it cannot move it themselves. If they can propel even part of the time, a standard wheelchair protects that independence and is the better choice. We would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong chair.

Practical details

The back folds down and the frame folds flat for storage or a car boot. Footrests swing away for transfers, armrests are padded, and the nylon upholstery wipes clean, which matters in a shared or care setting. Rear wheel locks let the attendant hold the chair still while someone gets on or off, and a seat belt is included.

Sizing, and please read this

Seat width should match the person rather than being rounded up, since excess width lets someone slide sideways. We stock these from more than one supplier and seat widths vary between models, so confirm the exact width with us before ordering, or come into the showroom and we will measure properly.
