Secur-O-Bain Powered Bath Lift Chair
A powered bath lift on a mast beside the tub, so you sit down outside the bath and swivel in rather than stepping over.
Why this one
Get on outside the tub
You sit down on firm ground outside the bath, then the chair swings over the water, removing the step over the tub wall.
No suction cups
The mast stands beside the bath and never touches the tub floor, so a textured non-slip bathtub is no obstacle.
Swivel then lower
A manual swivel positions the chair over the tub, then a remote lowers it electrically on lithium battery power.
Lowers to the tub floor
The chair lowers to the bottom of the bathtub, so you are properly submerged rather than perched above the water.
350 lb capacity
Rated to 350 lbs and suitable from age one upwards, so one system can serve very different users.
Seat lifts clear
The seat lifts clear of the tub to free up space for someone else to bathe or to clean the bathtub.
Full support as standard
Backrest, headrest, support bar and belt as standard, with a retractable armrest, push arm and leg lift available.
Made in Quebec
Designed and assembled in Quebec, with five years on the structure and two on electronics, motor and battery.
About this product
The Sécur-O-Bain works differently from every other bath lift we supply. Instead of a seat sitting inside the bathtub, a vertical mast is installed beside the tub and the chair swings out over it.
You get on outside the bath
That is the important part. You sit down on the chair while it is outside the tub, on firm ground, with no need to step over anything or lower yourself onto a seat inside a slippery bathtub. A caregiver then swings the arm around so the chair is over the water, and a remote lowers you in.
For anyone who finds getting a leg over the tub wall frightening, or who has fallen doing it, that sequence removes the part of bathing that actually causes accidents.
No suction cups
Most bath lifts anchor to the tub floor with suction cups, which only grip smooth surfaces. If your bath has a moulded non-slip texture, those lifts cannot be secured safely. The Sécur-O-Bain does not touch the tub floor at all, so a textured tub is not an obstacle.
It still gives you a proper bath
The chair lowers to the bottom of the bathtub, so you are genuinely submerged rather than perched above the waterline, which is the point of choosing a bath over a shower.
Two things to check before ordering
Ceiling height. The mast is installed from floor to ceiling. Extensions are available for ceilings between 101 and 111 inches, and there is a cathedral ceiling adapter, but ceiling height and structure must be assessed first.
Space beside the tub. The mast needs a position next to the bath, so the bathroom layout matters.
Installation is done by trained installers and requires no permanent modification to the bathtub itself.
Support and warranty
The chair has a backrest, headrest, support bar and belt, with adjustable seat heights. The seat lifts clear to free up space or to clean the tub. Accessories include a retractable armrest, a push arm with extension, a body safety belt and a leg lift.
Stainless steel frame, five year warranty on the structure and two years on the electronics, motor and battery. Rated to 350 lbs and suitable from age one upwards. Designed and assembled in Quebec.
