About this product
A rotating transfer aid solves the part of bathing that a bath lift does not. A lift raises and lowers you in the water, but you still have to get onto it: sitting sideways on the rim, then swinging both legs over the edge of the tub.
For a lot of people that twisting movement is the hardest part, and it is where falls happen. This aid sits on the seat and rotates, so you sit down facing outwards and then turn to face into the tub, rather than twisting your body and hips against a fixed seat.
Who it helps most
Anyone with a hip or knee replacement who has been told not to twist. Anyone with back pain, poor balance, or reduced trunk control. And anyone who can manage the bath itself but finds the getting in and out to be the frightening part.
It is also worth considering where a carer is helping, because a rotating seat lets the person do more of the movement themselves and reduces the amount of lifting and twisting the carer has to support.
Used with a bath lift or on its own
It is designed to be used with a bath lift, and pairs with the Bellavita range we supply. In some situations a rotating aid on its own is enough, if someone can still lower themselves once seated and turned.
