The Crocodile is a posterior walking aid, which means it sits behind the child rather than in front. That single design choice is why it is prescribed. A walker in front encourages a child to lean forward and look down; one behind encourages them to stand upright and look ahead, which is closer to a natural walking pattern and better for the hips, back and confidence.
It works across a wide range of ability. As a basic posterior walker it gives light support to a child who needs very little. Add forearm, back, pelvis and hip supports and the same frame becomes a fully supported upright gait trainer. Because the supports are modular, they come off again as the child progresses, so the equipment follows the child rather than the other way round.

The All Terrain variant uses larger wheels with a deeper tread. If the child will be on grass, gravel or playground surfaces rather than only smooth floors, this is the one to specify, and it is worth deciding before ordering rather than after.
Safety and handling
An anti-reverse wheel stop prevents the walker rolling backwards away from the child, and hand brakes are fitted with a friction brake available where more controlled stopping is needed. Wheel tension and directional tracking adjust, so the resistance can be tuned to how much help the child needs. The frame folds and dismantles quickly for a car boot.
Fitting
