The Essential LC107 is an infinite position lift chair, available in Darby Pewter light grey and Darby Java dark brown.
What infinite position means
The back and the footrest have separate motors, so they move independently. On a two or three position chair they are linked, and the footrest rises as the back reclines whether you want it to or not.
Independent control is what makes two things possible.
Trendelenburg position, with the feet raised above the heart. For anyone with swelling in the legs, that position does real work and cannot be reached on a linked chair.
A genuine flat position, which matters if someone sleeps in their chair rather than going to bed. That is common with breathing and heart conditions, and where it applies, infinite position stops being a luxury.
Who should choose this over a three position chair
If the chair is mainly for sitting comfortably and standing up again, a three position chair does that perfectly well and costs less.
Choose infinite position if the person sleeps in the chair, needs their feet above their heart, or spends most of the day in it and needs to change position often to stay comfortable.

Darby Pewter is a light grey, Darby Java a dark brown. Both are chosen to look like ordinary living room furniture rather than medical equipment, which matters when the chair sits in the middle of the room.
Size it to the person
A lift chair has to fit. Too deep and the person cannot get their back against the backrest, so they slide forward. Too tall and their feet dangle rather than resting flat.
Height, weight and the measurement from the back of the knee to the floor all matter. Come in and sit in one.

Measure the doorway and the space behind the chair, since most models need clearance to recline. Check there is an outlet where the chair will go.
