Access Modular Ramp System
A complete modular ramp system, surveyed and configured to your entrance, installed quickly and fully removable.
Why this one
Configured to your home
Designed after a survey, so the layout fits the actual rise, space, door swing and approach at your entrance.
Installed in a day or two
Bolts together and installs in a day or two, rather than being built as permanent construction.
Reconfigure or remove
Can be reconfigured, moved to another property, or removed entirely with no lasting alteration to the house.
Complete with handrails
Handrails, non-slip surfaces and level landings at the top, bottom and every turn come as part of the system.
No lip to catch
Transition plates where the ramp meets ground or threshold, so there is no lip to catch a castor.
Honest about alternatives
If the rise is over about 30 inches or the space is tight, we will tell you whether a lift suits better.
About this product
A complete modular ramp system, configured to your entrance and installed by us. Sloping runs, platforms, turns, transition plates and handrails are specified together as one system rather than bought as parts.
Configured, not ordered
No two entrances are the same. The rise, the space available, where the door swings, whether there is a path to meet, and which way a person prefers to approach all change the layout.
So this is quoted after a survey. We measure the rise, look at the ground, work out the run and the turns, and design a layout that actually fits the property.
How long a ramp needs to be
The guideline is one foot of ramp for every inch of rise. A typical three or four step entrance is 24 to 30 inches of rise, which needs 24 to 30 feet of sloping run plus landings.
That rarely runs straight out from a door, which is why most domestic ramps turn back on themselves or run along the front of the house. The survey works this out.
Why modular rather than built
A timber or concrete ramp is permanent construction. A modular system bolts together, so it goes in within a day or two, can be reconfigured if needs change, moves to another property, and comes away entirely when it is no longer wanted.
For a temporary need, a rented property, or a situation that may change, that flexibility is worth a great deal. It also leaves no lasting alteration to the house.
What is included
Handrails, non-slip surfaces, level landings at the top, bottom and every turn, and transition plates where the ramp meets the ground or a threshold so nothing catches a castor.
Ramp or lift
If the rise is over about 30 inches, or the space will not take the run, a vertical platform lift may suit better. We supply both and will say which fits your property.
Getting started
Contact us with the rough rise and what chair or walker will use it, and we will arrange a site survey.
