Full Rails, Double Bar, for Standard Bed (HB3601)
Full length double bar side rails for the Standard bed HB3601, covering the whole bed on both sides.
Why this one
Full length coverage
Run the full length of the bed on both sides, rather than covering only the upper section like half rails.
Double bar
Double bar construction closes the gap a single bar leaves, since a barrier with a wide gap is not a barrier.
Matched to the bed
Designed for the Standard bed HB3601, so gaps are engineered around that frame and its intended mattress.
When a barrier is right
Suit someone who moves involuntarily or is at genuine risk of rolling out and cannot get up unaided.
When it is not
A poor choice for someone mobile and confused, who may climb over and fall from a greater height.
Check the latch
Check the rails latch positively in the raised position every time they are put up.
About this product
Full length double bar rails for the Standard bed, HB3601. They run the length of the bed on both sides.
Full length rails, and what they are for
A half rail covers the upper section of the bed, where someone holds on to sit up and get out. A full length rail runs the whole bed.
That difference is about purpose. Half rails are mainly a mobility aid. Full length rails are a barrier, intended to stop someone rolling or sliding out along any part of the bed.
The double bar construction closes the gap that a single bar leaves, which matters for the same reason: a barrier with a wide gap is not a barrier.
Please think about whether a barrier is right
Full length rails are appropriate for some people and a hazard for others.
They suit someone who moves involuntarily, is sedated, or is genuinely at risk of rolling out and cannot get up unaided anyway.
They are a poor choice for someone mobile and confused, who may climb over them and fall from a greater height, and for anyone who could become trapped between the bars, between rail and mattress, or at the ends.
If there is any doubt, ask us or the person's occupational therapist. A fall mat beside the bed is sometimes the safer answer, and we would rather have that conversation than simply supply rails.
Fitting
These are made for the Standard bed HB3601 and fit that frame. Gaps are designed around that bed with its intended mattress, so changing to a thicker mattress alters them.
Check the rails latch positively in the raised position every time they are put up.
