This is the distinction that matters when choosing. Half rails give a handhold at the upper part of the bed, for sitting up and getting out. Full rails run the whole bed and are intended to stop someone rolling or sliding out along any part of it.
Those are different purposes, and the second needs more thought.
Who full rails suit, and who they do not
They are appropriate for someone who moves involuntarily, is sedated, or is genuinely at risk of rolling out and could not get up unaided in any case.
They are a poor choice for someone mobile and confused. That person may climb over the rail rather than call for help, turning a roll onto the floor into a fall from a greater height. They also carry entrapment risk for anyone who cannot free themselves from between the bars, between rail and mattress, or at the rail ends.
If there is any doubt, talk to us or the person's occupational therapist before ordering. A fall mat beside the bed is sometimes the safer answer, and we would rather have that conversation than simply supply rails.

Made for the Euro bed HB3604, with gaps engineered around that frame and its intended mattress. Changing to a thicker mattress alters those gaps and reduces how far the rail stands above the sleeping surface, so the fit should be re-checked if the mattress changes.
