About this product
The Pursuit ES is Pride's outdoor scooter for long distances. Front and rear suspension with 13 inch pneumatic tires handle rough pavement, gravel and grass, and the range is the headline: up to 33 miles on a charge, which is more than most people will use in a day.
Standard or high speed
Two versions are made. The standard runs to 6 mph. The high speed version reaches 9.5 mph, which is quick for a scooter and genuinely useful if you cover distance on quiet roads or long paths.
The trade is real, though: going faster uses more battery, so the high speed version does not travel as far on a charge. Decide which you actually need. If your journeys are long rather than urgent, the standard version will take you further.
Comfort over distance
Range only matters if you can sit comfortably that long. The seat reclines, swivels and slides, the headrest adjusts for height, and the armrests flip up and adjust for both height and width. Flip-up armrests also make side transfers considerably easier. Over 20 or 30 miles these details matter more than the specification sheet suggests.
Where it fits, and where it does not
With a 68.5 inch turning radius this is an outdoor scooter. It turns in less space than the larger Pursuit XL, but it is still not something to manoeuvre around a kitchen. If you need one scooter for indoors and out, look at a mid-size model instead.
Two practical notes
Batteries are usually quoted separately on this model, and it takes two Group 24 batteries weighing around 53 lbs each, so check what your quote includes.
The tires are pneumatic rather than solid. They ride far better on rough ground, but they need their pressure checked regularly.
