Pride Go Chair Portable Power Wheelchair

A portable power wheelchair that turns in 25.5 inches and comes apart into four pieces for an ordinary car boot.

Features & Benefits

Why this one

25.5 inch turning radius

Turns in 25.5 inches, roughly half a typical scooter, so it works in a bathroom, a kitchen or a narrow hallway.

Joystick, not a tiller

Joystick control rather than a tiller suits limited reach, grip or shoulder movement, where a scooter would be hard work.

36 lb heaviest piece

Separates into four pieces with the heaviest at 36 lbs, so a power chair can travel in an ordinary car boot.

Apart in three steps

Remove the seat, lift out the battery, pull one lever to split front from rear. No tools and no second person.

Two seat widths

Seats come in 18 or 20 inch widths, so the chair fits the person rather than the person fitting the chair.

Storage under the seat

Swing-out storage compartments sit under the seat, which matters on a chair with no basket to carry things in.

Accessory mount

An accessory mount on the back takes a cane holder or an oxygen carrier without modification.

11 miles per charge

Up to 11.2 miles on a charge at speeds to 3.8 mph, with a 300 lb weight capacity.

About this product

The Go Chair is a portable power wheelchair, not a scooter. That distinction matters. You drive it with a joystick rather than a tiller, so it suits someone with limited reach, grip or shoulder movement who would struggle with the two-handed steering a scooter needs. It also turns in 25.5 inches, which is roughly half what most scooters manage.

Built for inside the house

That turning radius is the point. A power chair that turns within its own footprint can be used in a bathroom, a kitchen or a narrow hallway, where a scooter has to be reversed and shuffled. If most of your difficulty is inside your own home, a power chair is usually the right answer and a scooter is not.

It still travels

Portability normally disappears once you choose a power chair, since most weigh far too much to lift. The Go Chair takes Pride's feather-touch disassembly from their scooter range and applies it here. Remove the seat, lift out the battery, pull one lever to separate front from rear, and you have four pieces with the heaviest at 36 lbs. That fits in the boot of an ordinary car.

Comfort and storage

Two seat widths, 18 or 20 inches, with swing-out storage compartments underneath, which is unusual and genuinely useful when you have no basket to put things in. There is an accessory mount on the back for a cane holder or oxygen carrier. A large footplate supports the feet properly rather than perching them.

The MED version

A Go Chair MED is also made, adding a five-point swivel seat with latch release for easier transfers, height and width adjustable armrests, and an optional swing-away joystick. If transfers on and off the chair are difficult, ask us about it.

Ordering

Up to 11 miles on a charge at up to 3.8 mph. Come and try it, particularly the disassembly, before deciding.
